Booroomba Rocks
On Sunday 23rd May 2021 I walked to Booroomba rocks with two friends, one I had known for many years and the other I had just met. It was a 10.5km return hike in the Namadgi National Park just south west of Canberra. We parked at Honeysuckle Creek carpark very close to the location of a tracking station that received the first film footage from Neil Armstrong on the Moon in 1969. The dish has long gone but there is a nice camping ground with walking trails nearby. You can normally drive to the Booroomba rocks car park but it has been closed due to the devastating wild bushfires in January 2020 that burned across most of eastern Australia and Kangaroo Island in South Australia. The walk included some tough bits for me due to a strong ascent and incline up some rock steps to the top but it was well worth it in the end. I flew my drone and took some other photos so I hope you enjoy them.
