10/7/2024 Drangarnir

Today was one of the best so far with perfect weather and scenery to die for. I was booked in for a 13km return hike that cost $140AUD so I was hoping it would be worth it. When we started the hike, we were told that plans had changed and we would be getting a small boat for the first section because the local farmers were shearing the sheep and we would disturb them if we all walked past. This suited me as my knee wasn’t the best and it took an hour off the walk. We arrived at our starting point after the boat ride and the 40 of us set off along the coastline and up a fairly high hillside. When we got to the top, the view was unbelievable with the Dranganir sea stack below us in the distance. We made our way down and along a pretty sketchy section with a very narrow track on a steep slope. I took some photos I was really happy with. At the end of the day we got a boat ride back from Dranganir and actually went through the sea stack arch which was awesome.
